2: Colors that pop.

Think of the major brands. Very few have brown or gray as the dominant color.
Most have strong, bright colors that convey strength, or fun or adventure.

3: A graphic that helps identify what your selling.

Think of a great big cheesy, meaty pizza on the front of a pizza mailer. Almost makes your mouth water. A picture is wort a thousand words.

4: Just enough information to get them to respond.

Many people will read your ad after you have gotten their attention just to look for the catch (reason not to act).
An example of to much information would be:
Buy one pizza get one Free. Not valid between 4 and 6 pm pick up only. Second pizza can only be medium one topping only.
You had them at buy one get one Free, You lost them with all of the restrictions.

5: Make your company name and contact information visible but not the biggest thing on the page.

If they like what your selling they will look for your number.
